The Bar

An authentic, Chinese, lacquer-work bar set at one end of the courtyard, was imported in its entirety from China back in the 1960s. It was believed by the original owners to date back to the Ming dynasty.

Dark leather chairs and small cocktail tables arranged under a Bedouin-style canopy allow for intimate conversation or larger group gatherings. A crystal chandelier hangs over a central, low-walled Lilly pond.

Against a muted gold wall and under a billowing canopy, a white banquette made plush with bolster pillows, creates a stylish and comfortable seating enclave. From the elevated location, Road Town harbour can be seen through the courtyard openings.

The bar offers cocktails and quality wines from around the world at a reasonable price. The choice of champagnes, sparkling wines, white and red wines is sold by the bottle or by the crystal glass. Wines start at $8 a glass / $30 a bottle.

The separate bar menu happily marries Shanghai teahouse with modern British flair.
